Inspired by experiences on dance floors as youngsters in clubs like Trouw, De School,
Berghain, and countless other places – Marco Đakić, Jerry Rog, and Daan Siebum craved a
more modern underground sound and vibe in their hometown. This led them to organize the
notorious Pikzwart basement parties at various locations in Twente.

From 2012 to 2020, they captivated the scene, promoting and playing alongside upcoming
(at the time) and legendary artists such as Call Super, Deniro, Jeans, Kobosil, mad miran,
Matrixxman, nthng, Objekt, Oceanic, Parrish Smith, Perc, Shed, Solid Blake, Somewhen,
Spekki Webu, Stefan ZMK, Tammo Hesselink, Woody92 and countless others. Regularly
collaborating with like-minded organizations such as Basic Grooves, Broodje Aap, Gogbot
Festival, and In The Middle Of The Rhythm.

The crew first connected while DJ-ing at the same party in Atak in 2011, during the
post-dubstep era, through a shared love for collecting vinyl. The first Pikzwart editions were
focused on vinyl-only sets with all the lights out, solely presenting the music, with only one
light in the booth to browse their records. This is where the name comes from. Their unique
tastes combined and infectious energy together in the booth have earned them a reputation
as pioneers of the Twente underground scene, seamlessly blending 90s techno loopers with
acid, breaks trance, forward-thinking bass, IDM, and freetekno rave classics.

After pausing the regular operations during the COVID lockdowns, relocating to Amsterdam,
babies, and life in general, they’re coming back together for one last party. On Friday, May 24,
in Enschede, closing this story with special guests and longtime friends: Konduku, Jasmín,
and Roelien at the intimate Spacebar. The last edition of Pikzwart.
